The Importance of Building an “A Team”

In every workplace people talk about building a team and working as a team. However, few understand how to develop a successful and effective team, and some even do not have the experience of team work. True teamwork gives team members a feeling of being part of something larger than themselves.

A good team needs a good leader – and a great team needs a great leader. In a work situation, the leader is chosen by people outside the team. Presumably, you are already in this position or aspire to reach the position of team leader.

Becoming a great leader and building an A team, has a lot to do with your understanding of the mission or objectives of your organization. It also has to do with creating a very good relationship between you as the team leader and your team. You and each member must recognize that every team member has his or her unique capability and that by working together and using the right approach, you will be able to achieve your goals.
